This year the PTA is sponsoring We Grow TREEmendous readers!
This is a program to encourage a love of reading and to earn money for your child's classroom and school!
100% of the money will benefit your child!
50% of the money will directly benefit your child's classroom!
50% of the money will benefit your child's school!
How can you help support the Read-A-Thon? Encourage your child to read at least 10 books. Help your child get sponsors to raise a minimum of $25.
You have two weeks to meet the challenge.
The 2009-10 Read-A-Thon kicks off Tuesday October 13, and ends Wednesday, October 28.
Every student who participates will receive an award certificate.
The student who raises the most money in each grade level will receive a reward.
The student who reads the most books in each grade level will receive a reward.
The teacher with the highest classroom participation will receive a reward.
The class that raises the most money will receive a giant trophy to display in their classroom.
Every student who participates will have their name entered into a drawing for additional prizes.
Here's how it works:
Take the attached envelope and get your friends, family and neighbors to sponsor you with either a one-time donation or a donation per book that you read. Next, start reading! When you've finished all your books, collect your donations and return them to your teacher by Wednesday, October 28.
To level the playing field, here is how books or chapters will count by grade level:

Kindergarten - 2nd grade:

1 non-chapter book or 1 chapter = 1 book

3rd grade - 5th grade:
|
1 non-chapter book or 2 chapters = 1 book
|
This year we have expanded the program to "Share our Love of Reading" by collecting used children's books to share with a local school. Let's show everyone that we are TREEmendous Readers...
